About Bear Creek Herbary
Bear Creek Herbary was opened by Ron Springer in 2001. The main structure, a large barn, was erected in a single day through a traditional Amish barn raising. Bear Creek offers a unique experience beyond what you would find at a traditional garden center. Here is a summary of what Bear Creek has to offer:
The large Amish-built barn contains a variety of unique gifts and decorations. Around the holiday season, the barn is truly a sight to be seen, with multiple themed Christmas trees, sparkling lights, and a large assortment of beautiful decorations.
Directly behind the barn is the main green house, which contains an assortment of premium tropical plants, trees, and potted arrangements. During the holiday season, the greenhouse is filled with poinsettias of many colors, sizes, and varieties.
The Tea Room
In a small building across from the barn is the tea room, where you'll find Tea Forte tea, candles and gifts for the home.
Throughout the grounds, you will see interesting varieties of perennials, annuals, succulents, shrubs, herbs, and vegetables. In the greenhouse explore our magical fairy village complete with waterfall, pathways, cottages and every amenity a fairy or gnome could ever need.
The Chicken Coop
Near the back left corner of the grounds is the chicken coop. The kids will enjoy feeding the chickens!!
Reptiles are coming soon! Bring the kids to visit our lizards, snakes and turtles. Plan a Reptile Birthday Party for the kids!!!
